Hi, I'm Michael. I recently moved from DC to Shinjuku with my wife. I like to tinker around and learn new stuff. My focus area was embedded systems for some time, and I've done a bit of work with software defined radios.

I started this blog as a way to encourage me to keep tinkering while in this new place. It also lets me keep in touch with friends back in America. I picked the domain name しど (shido) . みんな (minna) for two reasons.

• Shido is my cat, love him.
• みんな, meaning everyone, seemed like a fun option to tell "everyone" what I'm up to since the move to Japan.
